Translation visualizer
A stress-testing pipeline to preview translations and catch accessibility and layout issues before development.
- ROLE
- Content Designer
- Coverage
- 8 locales
- Focus
- Pre-ship layout checks
Problem
Localization was treated as a downstream QA step rather than part of the design process. Without a way to validate content across languages early, text overflow and layout issues surfaced after designs were finalized, creating avoidable rework.
Lack of visibility
- English copy submitted
- Design finalized
- Translation review
3 days lost to QA
Multiple review rounds, repeated handoffs, and back-and-forth to resolve issues.
Solution
I designed and built an AI-powered visualizer that puts English copy into a screen and previews eight locales in the same layout. That moved translators and language managers upstream, into the design process, so we could all catch errors in real time.
Moved upstream
- English copy submitted
- Eight locales previewed
- Reviewed in design
Errors caught in real time
Translators and language managers review screens while the design is still open.
